What happened in the Ticketfly Breach?

In May 2018, Ticketfly's website was defaced by an attacker who demanded a ransom to disclose a vulnerability. After not receiving a response, the attacker leaked the data online. Ticketfly later acknowledged that hashed password values might have been accessed.
