In December 2020, MMG Fusion, a company offering marketing tools for dental practices, experienced a data breach affecting approximately 15 million user accounts. The compromised data included names, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, genders, marital statuses, physical addresses, appointments, and, in some cases, passwords stored as bcrypt hashes.
MMG Fusion acknowledged the cyberattack, stating that while demographic data was breached, no financial information was compromised, as the company does not store such data.
