In July 2022, Hjedd, a Chinese adult content platform, suffered a significant data breach due to an unsecured database. This security lapse exposed the personal information of over 14 million users, including usernames, email addresses, bcrypt-hashed passwords, IP addresses, and messages exchanged between users. Despite multiple notifications, the database remained publicly accessible for an extended period, leaving users vulnerable to potential misuse of their personal information.
