In late 2016, a massive compilation of email addresses and passwords, known as the "Exploit.In" breach, surfaced online. This unverified dataset contained approximately 591 million unique email addresses, many associated with multiple passwords compromised from various online systems. The breach was widely circulated and used for credential stuffing attacks, where attackers attempt to identify other online systems where account owners may have reused their passwords .
